Using TwinDrag technology, Accurate has created the TwinSpin, the world's only true TwinDrag spinning reel designed for super heavy-duty angling performance. Machined from the same high-grade materials as other Accurate reels, the TwinSpin has the strength and heat dissipating qualities to beat the kind of big, powerful fish like marlin, tuna and wahoo that you otherwise wouldn't think to challenge with a spinning reel.

Other features to maximize leverage include a power handle, a unique, adjustable pre-set knob on the front of the spool to precisely control drag tension, and a rugged, manual bail mechanism for picking up line. Available in a 6:1 high-speed retrieve ratio, the TwinSpin 30 lays more than 50 inches of line on the reel spool with every full revolution of the reel's handle (also available in a 4:1 higher torque ratio). A series of circular, machined holes around the skirted spool serves to reduce heat build-up, and helps trim the reel's weight.

Good solid reel. Received as a gift. I could do without the engraved name on it tho. Wish it had the appearance of the larger size one. No complaints on performance thought .

Drag Problems
July 21, 2014
I bought this reel and I could not adjust the drag, I would losen the drag but when I would crank the reel the drag would tighten, then the drag was to tight, I took it back to the tackle shop were I purchased it from and they said it was normal, they said it is a small reel but able to handle big fish thus the tight drag. I have owned hundreds of reels and never had this problem and yes they where high end, I exchanged the reel for another brand.

Mack Truck
September 12, 2012
Accurate SR-20 TwinSpin Spinning Reel is the Mack truck of spinning reels.
Paired with an OTI tuna sniper rod you have a deadly combo for whacking big tunas. I found this combo with a frenzy popper to be deadly in the West Delta out of Venice, La. Smooth has silk with 20lb of drag on a fish.

Later,
Mr. Tom
Pros
  • Smooth with max drag.
Cons
  • A little heavy compared to others. But this reel is made to last a life time.

I have an sr-20 and are looking for a good 8’6” rod for poppers on the west coast. Recommendations?
1 Answer
A couple of good choices would be the Phenix Megladon popping rods or the Shimano Ocea Plugger full throttle

Is the smallest size accurate stout enough to handle big 80lb catfish.
1 Answer
Hi Sharpcoolman, We do not recommend using the smallest size Accurate TwinSpin reel for catfishing as it may not host enough line capacity and drag to effectively for larger catfish. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with!

How audible is the drag clicker? I had an original one from the first batch made and the drag was silent. I spoke to accurate and they suggested it would have another spool design in the future that would have an audible click for the drag. Is that the case is the drag now loud enough to hear?
1 Answer
Jim,

Unfortunately this specific item as been discontinued by Accurate and is no longer available.  Our apologies for any inconvenience in regards to that.  Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

I am looking to purchase this reel and a St Croix rod. Could you confirm if this has the California prop 65 warning? Also, could you recommend a good st Croix rod? Any other good rods you would recommend?
1 Answer
The California Prop 65 waring is not on the box the Accurate reel is in. As for a good rod to pair with the Accurate Twinspin 20, the St Croix Legend Salt Spinning Rods are capable rods to pair with the Accurate TwinSpin 20. Thank you for considering TackleDirect fro your fishing needs.

Is this reel sealed, like a van staal? can it be dunked in the salt? I have had many Shimanos that get crunchy up after 1 or two years of heave salt service. I rather just buy one and keep it
1 Answer
The Accurate TwinSpin Spinning Reels are not sealed like a Van Staal. This is a great series of reels. Tuff and built for an extreme fight. I just would not recommend dunking this reel. Thank you for considering TackleDirect for your fishing needs.

What is the maximum drag rating?
3 Answers
They do not advertise drag ratings but depending on the size of the reel you can get 25lb-40lb easily.
Submitted by: Customer Service on May 29, 2012
Yes the SR-12 is a good size for back country fishing for snooks, reds, etc.
Submitted by: Customer Service on July 7, 2012
Can the SR 12 be used for backcountry large snook and redfish, sharks etc. or is it too generally heavy for that use. I would use 20-25 lb braid and 30-40 lb. test fluorocarbon leader. Thanks...Marty, Piermont N>Y>
