Light weight, strong rod. The rod butt is perfect length for tucking underarm while jigging and the split grip increase rod sensitivity. Definitely recommend. Holding off on 5 star rating as I haven't had the rod long enough to determine what if any effects the tiny diameter has on durability.

  • Lightweight

BV-70ML Great rod for 300 valiant
January 6, 2019
I have a valiant 300 and I have had it on several rods including Shimano Terez. This rod fits the reel so much better and it is my to go light bottom fishing outfit. Mangrove snapper, trigger fish, sheepshead, flounder, grunts, etc.

At first I was a little skeptical because it feels a little different than the Terez. It has a few less guides than most rods in the same class, but after I used it, I can see that it is a good quality rod.

The triangle grip is super comfortable and the rubber fighting butt/gimbal is a smart move. The butt is a little long, but not too bad.

This is one of my all time favorite combo. I bought another one to try out the new Accurate Tern 300. Will buy more in the future to go with my other size Valiants.

The Fore grip is too small causing the rod to twist when you have a big fish on.

Don't buy these rods if you are a purist. They are not built on the backbone. Extremely important for slow pitch jigging rods that have lots of bend. Sent it back.
