The Accurate Boss Valiant 600 Reels are designed for heavy inshore and offshore applications with an added BVL-600 and BVL-600W light line series geared towards tackling white marlin, sailfish, king mackerel, and other lightning fast game fish. These reels are made with innovative design that minimizes size and weight while maximizing strength, longevity and fish fighting power. The unique curvature of the Accurate BV's rugged body gives this compact, extremely lightweight reel the structural integrity of models twice its size. Basing the Accurate BV's design on the original premise of the Roman Arches or Domes used in early architecture, Accurate has been able to create a significantly stronger reel using less material. While the Accurate BV's walls are thinner, its non-flexing frame and side plate enable it to withstand more stress than similarly sized reels. Accurate has also managed to fit the drive train of a bigger reel perfectly into the Accurate BV's small profile. These Boss Valiant Reels also incorporate a new Accurate feature – an easy-find “Cam Stop” at strike. Instead of having buttons at free spool and strike, these reels have a secure indent in the Drag Cam that stops the drag lever before going into full. This useful feature offers a fail-safe during the heat of battle, preventing the angler from going too far into full drag. These reels offer performance that’s as close as you can get to a two-speed in a single-speed reel.

Features:
  • 6061 T6 Aircraft Aluminum
  • Anodized for increased corrosion resistance
  • Smooth, Easy Find Cam Stop Strike
  • Sleeved spool for greater Free spool
  • 2 ARB bearings with seal washers for improved corrosion resistance
  • Lever Drag Recessed Ergonomic Thumb Plate
  • Precision-Cut Stainless Steel Gears

Looks great....

Haven't fished with it yet but will do that on very first opportunity as soon as the seasons opens up in my area. Looks superb.... finish is absolutely flawless and weight, as expected is very less for a reel of this size. Looks like a great real for live bait fishing and jigging. Looks like a good long time investment.
As always, response of Tackle Direct is perhaps the best that I have seen on any online store and I have done a lot of online tackle purchase from stores in USA, Canada, Japan and Spain. I received the reel in Dubai on 5th day after I made the payment. Tackle Direct actually shipped the reel within five hours of my making the payment. That's quick.....
Pros
  • 1. Very light weight for its size
  • 2. Good line capacity.
  • 3. Large sized handle
Cons
  • 1. No reel cover provided with a 620 $ reel

Love the reel, perfect in every way except that my thumb is wider than the spool. That would be my problem as I have large hands. I own several Accurate reels and very happy with all of them. You cant go wrong. These cast well and are outstanding for Yellow Tails in the Sea of Cortez. Good Luck! Happy Fishing!
Pros
  • Light weight, dependable. High quality

I purchased this for offshore tuna jigging. I put 500yds of 50lbs depth hunter and paired to a jigging world slow pitch ghost hunter rod. This reel is an absoulte savage. Narrow spool width makes it easy to jig width. This reel I can also use for deep water cod/haddock fishing too. Many uses for this reel.
Pros
  • build quality - fit and finish
Cons
  • price - it's $$$....but very high quality.

Strong lightweight reel

Used it to catch yellowtail on the yoyo in cedros. Even caught a black seabass on a dropper loop. Super strong reel. The fish were about 20lbs but I felt like they didn't even have a chance. Probably the perfect reel for big tuna and homeguard yellowtail. It's super lightweight, feels like you could fish it all day.

I love that Accurate is made 30 miles from my home. Beautiful craftsmanship in every reel I've seen. I was so happy to save up and get my first Accurate Valiant 600N. I matched it with a calstar rod and got my first Bluefin Tuna last weekend with it. Great reel, super smooth. easy to adj when hooked up, 2 speed was great to get the fish on the boat! Can't wait to get another Accurate Reel I've got my eye on...

So awesome!

Did my research on precision lightweight leverdrags, these are not cheap, and Accurate Valiant reels are the best out there. Avet is a close second, but the twin drag system put them ahead of the pack. I got the BV-2 600, and what a reel. Smooth retrieve, effortless freespool, silky smooth drag. The 2-speed lets me take up line fast, but with a big Grouper or huge Red Snapper on, hit the shift button and beauty turns into a beast of a winch to drag them away from the bottom rocks or wreck! Sheer power; loaded with 300 yds of 65 lb Power Pro, and 200 yds of 80 lb Invisabraid on top of that, and finally 50 yds of 80 lb Momoi mono topshot. A killer bottom fishing machine, that will do double duty as a primo Tarpon reel.
I see a BV2-300 in my future very soon!
Pros
  • American made Precision, light weight, smooth, awesome drag, large capacity, two speed.
Cons
  • Very minor, but clicker is very stiff to engage.

have fished 6 - bvl-600sw billfish editions for 6 months here in south florida. primarily kite & bump trolling live bait. The line capacity, weight & retrieval of these reels is unmatched by far. The biggest short coming is the drag, it’s not as smooth as it should be. I’d happily add 4-6 ounces to overall weight to gain a more consistent and smoother drag. In addition, within my first three fishing trips 2 of the 6 reels clickers went out... so much for the marketed 24 hour clicker test. I think too much was focused on weight and therefore internal components were compromised. Fix the drag & clicker....at least for the bxl600 series.
Pros
  • weight
  • retrieval
  • line capacity
Cons
  • drag is not smooth, poor curve
  • clicker durability
  • clicker button very hard to engage

Good reel for 20-25lb test, but I felt like this reel was completely maxed out with 50lb braid and a 30lb fluorocarbon top-shot. Caught a few CA yellowtail with it, but it only preformed OK for the task. This was disappointing given the specs.

What does the ‘P’ in the model number/letter sequence designate?
1 Answer
Any models with "p" is the low speed/ more torque option. You will notice all of the 600's with P are a 4:1 gear ratio .
