Great reel - watch the palm side cover latch.

This is a great reel for the price. The backlash prevention systems both centrifugal and magnetic perform well.
Pros
- Great caster, easy to set up to prevent backlash for different lure wts.
Cons
- I lost the side cover when the small retaining lever was moved as the rod sat on a rod holder. Picked it up casted the cover fell off into 30' of water followed by the spool. I was able to recover the spool because the line was tied to it. Abu Garcia replaced the cover under warranty and is aware that this is an issue.

Since I started fishing as a little kid until now, I’ve only ever used abu Garcia reels aside from one diawa baitcaster which I liked a lot. This reel is a fantastic reel and a great member of the revo family. For the price, you can’t beat it. I like that it has both magnetic and centrifugal brakes so you can casts lures lighter than you probably should without backlash. I have two of these reels and both work great for their applications. I own other $200+ Abu Garcia reels and these can definitely keep up.

This was my first baitcast reel on the pricyer end of things and it is great. I've always trusted Abu Garcia with baitcasts and this one does not disappoint. Great overall feel and handle.

I own quite a few different higher end reels and this one is right there in my stack. For the money this is an awesome casting reel. Very smooth and quiet and has a really good drag system. I would highly recommend this product. Quick shipping and quality product.

I was looking for the right combination of reel and rod that would allow me to throw light plastics for the longest possible distance without back lashing. The Abu Garcia Revo4-SX-HS is fully living up to its reputation as a very smooth operating reel. Using in on my G Loomis E6 852 Casting Rod I am casting way further than any other combination I own. I found the reel easy to adjust to achieve the longest casts without the back lashing. I strongly recommend this reel.

This reel is very powerful, I used it all last year and had to get several more. The reel has a great handle and you can get the reel in three different speeds.
