Haven’t had any issues with this reel and it fits nice with my veritas

Nice while it lasts, unreliable

I’ve used a SX30 in freshwater for a few years, the anti-reverse has failed repeatedly and the red paint job has basically faded to pink despite minimum use and good care.

The AR failed after only a few months and still slips after servicing. Due to that issue the reel isn’t used nearly as often as any other reels I own but the color still faded by about 50% which is pretty disappointing considering the price. I don’t own any other reel that faded nearly as much, especially with such light use and minimal exposure to the elements.

It would be a great reel if it not for those issues but there are much cheaper options that are more trustworthy; I wouldn’t even mention it in comparison to other reels in its price range.
Pros
  • Smooth, nice drag, comfortable handle knob
Cons
  • Anti reverse issues, color fades for no reason

smooth drag

This is one of the smoothest drags in a spinning reel. I will definitely be purchasing more for my extra rods.
Pros
  • smooth drag, holds good amount of line on spool.

Would this be ok for inshore fishing!

This reel is geared more towards freshwater fishing, it can be used in very light saltwater applications.
