It's my brothers reel, I kayak fish in south Texas. Caught redfish, speckled trout, ladyfish and sheepshead on this reel. Great reel, may buy one.
Pros
  • This reel is smooth, light and tough.
Cons
  • None, use it for what it's made for. Not a surf reel. Have my vr50 for that job.

Doesn’t hold up
February 17, 2018
Anecdotal review but in my opinion the gear box in this reel is no bueno. It didn’t survive one season of fishing Cape Cod for stripers and false albacore. I bought it because I wanted something that would work well with epoxy jigs especially for albies- has the quick pick up for sure but durability seems to be a bust. I caught several nice stripers on it and the first albie it came into contact with absolutely shredded the gearing.

This may not be everyone’s experience but mine certainly did not hold up.
Pros
  • Fast line retrieval and light weight
Cons
  • Durability

.I m new to masheer fishing I need good rod n reel for lures ..help

I just watched a couple of videos of masheer fishing in Nepal. For that style of fishing your going to want a spinning reel in the 4000-5000 size. The Penn CLA5000 Clash Spinning Reel would be a solid option for the style of fishing your doing.
