Tough combo

I'm buying this combo again, bought one about 10 years ago. Performed awesome on Texas coast on reds up to 45". The loss of the rod was riding unprotected in my truck, the reel wore out 3 rods before it gave out after 10+ years.

Rod broke on first fish caught.

The rod broke about one foot from the tip on the first fish caught. I was able to get the 20 inch Trout in the boat, but was very unhappy that the rod failed on the first fish.
Pros
- Even though this rod failed I have several Abu Garcia rod and reels that I have had for several years that have landed many fish.
Cons
- The rod broke!
