I bought these pliers as a gift. I have used them for years, and had a great experience. When I opened the package, I was very surprised to learn that the Abel box had been previously opened, and that no sheath was included.

The pliers are good but the cutters are very nice and sharp. I highly recommend this pier kit.

These are definitely one of the high end products that you buy, and are glad you do. The leather sheath is real quality and the lanyard is well designed and functions like it should. The knife is simple and of excellent quality, and comes razor sharp, as one would expect--it also holds it's edge well. The pliers themselves are first rate, and well grip very small gauge mono. They are also lightweight. I like the fact that they are spring loaded, so they open back up on their own. I enjoy my Abel's very much, the only thing I wish, is that the had longer jaws and were more of a needle nose design, I find myself using a longer plier, to get hooks out of fish as opposed to my Abel's.
