I use these on my Dolphin trolling rigs generally matched with a 5/0 top hook. They are strong and sturdy hooks, but do need to be sharpened out of the box. Get you a $7 hook file from here with your purchase and after a couple of swipes you are good to go.

This is a great hook to rig up dolphin and other medium duty trolling lures. I use a combo of the 7/0, 6/0, and/or 5/0 to make double hook rigs by placing the smaller hook into the eye of the larger one. You can easily open the hook eye with a pair of wire cutters but squeezing down in the slot where the eye comes together. It opens it up just enough to get the hook through and can then be easily closed with a pair of needle nose pliers. My only gripe about these hooks is they do need to be sharpened, but that's pretty much standard for any hook out of the box.

right out of he box these hooks are somewhat suspect as to the overall plating process of these hooks. mind you I recognize that these do not measure up to 34007 SS. doing a comparrison of Chinese to Norway to Singapore/malasia made 4/0 3707 hooks is an eyeopener. Norway and Singapore are identical wrt finish and coverage; china fails! I question WHAT are they coated with?
