These lures are the original HOPKINS Lures. They resemble Mullet or Herring-types of baitfish. NO=EQL« Lures have relatively thick bodies. They are heavier then conventional spoons of the same length and can be cast much farther. They have taken most fresh and saltwater gamefish, jigging, casting, and trolling. Hence the claim that they are the "World's Most Versatile Lures". They are a must for all surf bags and tackle bags. Great when fish are out of reach and bigger baitfish are in the water. Great lure for all species of fish here in the Northeast.

Great tin
December 13, 2021
This is a tin you should have your bag. I like to put o-ring on them for easier on and off, but that's personal.
Pros
  • just plain work
  • low price
Cons
  • none

Will be put to use

The best way to describe this spoon in my opinion is "durable usage". It is not as "flashy" as some other spoons, but it is built tough at a good price. Good profile for casting. interesting shape. dimples for different light reflections. I bought these because they were a little less expensive than some of my other spoons. I don't think it will disappoint. If you are thinking about it, grab one. I don't regret the purchase.

I am trying to fish using single hooks and also not sure of the quality of the rings and treble. It seems decent but haven't taken it out yet. I also have a preference for really good quality rings and hooks. I will also be adding my own high quality rings and swivel up front.

I can't wait to take these out and see what the fish think of them.
Pros
  • The pics don't do it justice. Seems like it is a very cast able lure. The dimples make it a great alternative to smooth shiny spoons even though this is also shiny. I can see this refracting light depending on the sunshine.
Cons
  • not even sure if this is a con...but I may replace the treble and the ring that came with it.

Top notch lure

The Hopkins No=Eql is one of my go to lures for jigging up Walleye and
Saugeye . It has alot of action as it floats back to the bottom. They are hard to find at times however Tackle Warehouse came thru for me.

Bluefish
April 2, 2020
I love to use these lures when the Bluefish are around in New Jersey, because they have great action, cast far, and are very shiny. The bluefish love the shine. I'm sure that these baits would also work a bunch of species down in warmer water.
Pros
  • Action
  • Casting
  • Shiny

An old favorite that's out of sight

Okay, corny pun but this really casts well. Using my 8' rod, it was going straight and far through the wind like the wind wasn't even blowing.

The lure itself is durable and holds up to teeth very well. Had these for years and never failed.
