Highly responsive and able to stop on a dime, the 13 Fishing Whipper Snapper Jerkbait delivers a hard stop-and-go action at a variety of depths that no bass can refuse. Built with a slim, streamlined profile that knifes through the water with superior responsivity, the Whipper Snapper is a fantastic option for scenarios where lethargic bass may be hesitant to chase down fast moving baits. The Whipper Snapper erratically lunges forward with a twitch of the rod tip, only to immediately stop dead in its tracks. This twitching action torments bass and triggers feeding reactions in fish that may be otherwise disinterested. With an internal weight transfer system designed to provide long casts, anglers can cover large stretches of water with this deadly presentation. Realistic 3D eyes, high definition paint finishes, and premium VMC treble hooks round out the design to make the Whipper Snapper a bait deserving of a spot in your selection of hard baits.

Good action

I own several of the whipper snapper lures. I only had this particular lure ( gold color) tied on for a few casts and didn’t catch a fish on it. I ended up tying the lure on My Fathers rod so I no longer have it. Not catching a fish is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. The other whipper snappers I own ( disco shad specifically ) have been super productive. I’ve caught over 20-25 fish in on afternoon. Everything from bass, crappie even a blue gill or two. It was awesome. I’m sure the gold lure would be productive too at the right time. The action is great with a jerk jerk jerk pause or similar cadence it suspends perfectly too. Great lure for a good price.
Pros
  • Appearance and paint
  • Action
  • Suspending ability
  • Productivity
  • Price
Cons
  • It?s kind of light weight. Really have to whip it out there. After I got used to throwing it not too bad. It didn't cause the lure to be unproductive.

Catches lots of fish

I’m new to jerkbaits. I purchased a jerkbait rod and this was the first hard jerkbait I tried. First time I used it I had been fishing with a rage cut r worm for about 20 min no bites. Tried this. Next four casts caught 4 bass. About 5 days later at another spot I must have caught at least ten probably more fish with it and to My surprise most were nice crappie. I even caught at least one big blue gill on it. The lure is put together nicely but after so many fish it showed ware. I got 3 more disco shad in mail and have also purchase two additional colors. The disco shad whipper snapper is a great lure. I definitely recommend it. For the price I think it was a great find.
Pros
  • Price
  • Extremely easy to get great action
  • Catches bass crappie and more
Cons
  • weight is a little light so I really have to throw it to get much distance. This wasn?t much of a problem after some reel adjustments and getting used to throwing it. I was getting bit even on short casts from boat.
