Very sensitive
March 21, 2022
Very sensitive rod for the money. Fishes like a rod twice the cost. I have two seasons in the back bays and on the kayak and has been responsible for numbers of specks and small redfish as well as a lot of mixed bag brackish catches with mostly paddletails and flukes. 7'2" MH is good to go.

Outstanding Warranty !!!!! *****
October 18, 2019
This isn't actually the rod I bought, but the 7'1" ML Casting rod - but I already had a review on that and couldn't write another. This is the best close-casting inshore kayak rod I have ever used for light lures, good distance and excellent sight-fishing finesse.
That great redfish release, tail kick + splash photo, I deserved a good photo.
The fish and I together broke my favorite rod because we both did the two things simultaneously that would break the rod. He sucked the lure in front of my face when I was about to take it out of the water, grabbed and turned, I put my thumb on the spool and set with the rod high (my mistake) at the exact moment the fish exploded, which is why the rod exploded - it broke clean, 45-degrees about a third down from the tip . All I needed was the butt to land the fish.
It should count as abuse, but 13Fishing didn't think that way and gave me a full warranty. I would have paid cash to replace this rod, and really called them expecting to get a discount as they mention on their website.
Great warranty from 13Fishing - just have to slice off the portion of the blank with model specs, mail it in for full replacement.
New rod delivered today, 10-day turnaround since mailing out the stub section.
Pros
  • Outstanding Warranty; perfect action; backbone in the butt if you use it correctly.
Cons
  • Nada

Light in hand and enough backbone
May 10, 2019
Could accuse me of being rod rich, and bought this rod for one specific use. Blind fishing a 1/4-oz neutral-density lure while drifting a kayak on the flats, and double-up for close sight-fishing with light lures. Matched it with a Lou's inshore, and it handles this job just fine. Long casts aren't needed, The light rod tip will cast the rated 1/8 oz with aplomb. With any smart paddle, easy chair drift-fishing with a sock trolleyed to the stern is the way to go home. The lightweight combo makes sure you don't wear yourself out. The rod is fun on small inshore fish, great for speckled trout, and the butt has plenty of power to keep a slot redfish from going under the boat. A quality rod for the price.
Pros
  • Light weight, light lures, plenty of backbone

Misleading information
November 5, 2018
I was looking for a MH rod in the 7.5 length range that was rated for up to 1 ounce lures and 20 lb line. I was so excited to have found one that fit the bill after searching for those parameters for some time and ordered it immediately. After unpacking it and removing the wrapping as I was mounting a reel on the rod I realized the rod is only rated for up to 3/4 lures. Highly disapointed in my first purchase from tackle direct for their misleading representation. I hate the hassles of going through return processes and the rod still seems like it may be a good rod even though it's my first time hearing of the brand. I was looking for specific thing and thought I had found exactly what I needed only to be highly disapointed by tackle direct.
Pros
  • Nice looking rod. Might be decent quality. Haven't seen how well it holds up after a few surf fishing trips
Cons
  • Incorrect information provided by tackle direct caused me to purchase an unnecessary rod as it does not satisfy the requirements I needed this rod to fulfill in my fishing arsenal.

13 Fishing Omen Green Spinning Rod
July 27, 2018
I had been looking for an inshore spinning rod that was between 7'6" and 7'10" for a while now. Most rod manufacturers don't make rods this long for some reason. This rod is not only really nice looking, but the action and quality components make it my go to inshore rod these days.
Pros
  • Length 7'10" - can cast farther.
Cons
  • None
