Lightweight, smooth, the color is nice

Feels cheap, no external brake adjustment. Straight out of the box it made a terrible screem from the bearings when casting. I sent it into 13 for repair, got it back and it made the exact same scream again. So now I'm sending it back again and spending even more money for shipping. Made in china P.O.S.

I own a few of these. Getting one for $100 is a steal! The casting is smooth! I have one on my buzzbait rod, one on my chatterbait rod, one on my spinnerbait rod and this one is for my medium deep crank baits. 7.3:1 is perfect for me for these applications. Thanks Tackle Direct!

Smooth retrieval and good handling.

Lightweight, smooth, great for all of my inshore needs. The color is really growing on me too!

Bought a Shimano SLX combo. The reel constantly squeaked while retrieving. A few lube treatments later. And it seized up. Needed a quick fix. The 13 fishing sport Z looked to be the best reel available at the $100 price point. And it did not disappoint. Cast great. Easy to get dialed in. So much better than my old Shimano SLX

It can be really hard to make a piece of equipment lightweight without it feeling less sturdy. 13 does an excellent job of reducing weight while still maintaining a sturdy quality feel. The braking and line management systems for this baitcaster is average to slightly above average for its price point. Ergonomics and feel are best experienced when paired with a rod that is light in weight.

Never thought I would like a non bearing type reel. Also, before I have only owned one left hand baitcaster, which seemed awkward after years of right handed. I must say this reel has put all this to rest. Checked out YouTube on how to adjust reel, this helped. I must say this reel may become my go to reel. This reel should prove to be an outstanding reel. It was on sale for $99.00, which I had doubts. One thing is the normal retail is $150.00. So far it could fall category of $200. baitcaster

I have only used it once, but it was quite enjoyable. It's light weight, smooth casting, and sends a lipless crankbait a country mile. It makes a noise when you cast that makes it sound like a DC reel, but I don't mind. Only giving it four stars because at $150 it should have an aluminum frame. Otherwise, my initial impressions are very positive and I look forward to taking it out.

I just picked up some more of these reels on sale at Tackle Direct. I love using them myself due to how well they cast, durability, and easy to maintain. If you have someone new in your boat this is the bait casting reel you want to hand them. Set braking at 6 and the likely hood of a bad bird nest should be zero or manageable until they get used to it. Great for bass fishing or inshore with corrosion resistance and 18lbs of drag.

Wanted to try the 13 fishing bearingless baitcaster was a little skeptical about bushings instead of bearings but after using this dont be works flawless casts a mile drag is great all around awesome reel for the money

This is a a hate it or love it reel as for the color. I love it!!! The real it self is smooth and casts really nice. It’s been a year since the purchase. I have it paired with the 13 fishing fate black rod which looks awesome. Highly recommend!!!!
