durable, worthy

I have one and used it for 2 season kayak fishing(fish 50+ times year) and pretty impressed at how well it has held up. The gear ratio is amazing and the drag is nice and smooth. The only con is the sideplate opening. If you are not careful placing it in rod holders, it will pop off and they charge you $35 for that part. I would not buy another one.
Pros
  • durable
Cons
  • sideplate opening trigger is prone to being accidentally popped off and the replacement is ridiculous

I had one of this for about year. Loved it worked great. And then the side plate fell off. They sent me another one under warranty and the lever that holds the plate on broke. They sent me a reel under warranty and it showed up with the side plate broke. Needless to say I switched to a different brand. I was impressed with the performance of the reel when I was able to fish with it.

Best Affordable Reel on the Market

This reel is lighweight, smooth, and has 18lbs of drag. Most $120 reels do not have this. I caught my pb largemouth flipping a jig with this reel and it had no problem horsing the bass out of the cover. This has to be the best reel 13 makes. I currently own 4 and will be buying more after this years proformance.
Cons
  • Nothing

Worth the money!
April 15, 2018
I have had this reel for about 9 months now and really like the performance. Will cast a mile, using it as a light forging rig and has the muscle to pull them out of the muck! I took her apart as soon as I got her and cleaned the bearings in acetone, then used Boca Bearing oil on the bearings, 1 drop on each bearing. What a difference that made, I think the oil 13 Fishing is using has a much higher viscosity than is really needed. I am going to change to Boca Bearings when these are use up, their ceramics are the best and will make this thing cast even further.
Pros
  • Smooth
  • Cast ability
  • Handle is great for larger hands.
  • Palm ability

Owned it for 10 months, here’s what I think of it.
February 17, 2018
I bought this reel around the end of March, 2017. It’s early February, 2018 now. I gotta say I’ve beaten this reel up. I’ve brought it offshore, and heck I’m impressed. Sometimes I’ve even forgot to rinse it after using it in saltwater. That would probably explain the noise it makes but other than that, after 10 months of abuse, this thing is still smooth but makes a some noises. After a while of owning it you will need to oil it because after a couple weeks, it will squeak. From the way I’ve been treating this reel, I am very impressed that it is still alive, and still cast a mile. Worth the 120 bucks.
Pros
  • Survives in saltwater
  • Drag
  • Cast a mile
Cons
  • The side plate can easily fall into the water (mine did and I had to get that replaced).
  • Squeaks after a couple weeks.
